GIT RIP (Based on Harlequin Server RIP)
Overview:

The GIT (Harlequin) RIP is the latest evolution of the Harlequin RIP based on Global Imaging Technologies next generation technology. It is part of a new range of cross-platform, driver-based, embedded and server-based printing solutions based on a common architecture. The kernel processor at the heart of the RIP has been re-engineered to provide more processing power. It gives you more… more power, more productivity and more flexibility in pre-press, digital printing and workflow applications.

Its speed, flexibility and rich set of features, coupled with its open architecture and JDF support, means that GIT RIP customers can build a vast array of solutions for CtP, proofing, DI presses, short-run printing and wide format printing.
GIT RIP has support on the latest operating systems, expanded support for hybrid and digitally modulated screens and extensions to the device classes on which PDF Retained Raster may be used.

What’s new in the GIT RIP

The GIT RIP offers important new features for print operations of all sizes including:

  • Native processing of PDF 1.7 (in addition to previously available native support for PDF 1.6 through to PDF 1.0 and native processing of PostScript)
  • Native PDF/X-4 support
  • Native processing of XPS 1.0 files
  • HD Photo support
  • JDF compatible
  • Significant performance increases:
    • Multithreaded rendering that helps remove RIP bottlenecks in handling raster data and takes full advantage of the new Duo and Quad core technologies
    • PDF retained raster that speeds up variable data processing
  • PDF wrapped raster output to facilitate soft proofing
  • Compatible with Windows® 7 and with MAC OS X (10.4 - 10.6)
  • Support for PANTONE® Goe™
  • Extended support for hybrid and digitally modulated screens

in addition to previously available features including:

  • Workflow in a box - includes numerous prepress capabilities including some not always expected in a RIP:
    • Trapping
    • Screening
    • Proofing
    • Color Management
    • Simple in-RIP Imposition
    • Font Emulation
    • Process PPF files using a CIP3 output plugin
  • JDF ready
  • Amongst the first products to support PDF/X
  • Open standards support
  • Add value for your customers by offering Harlequin Print Production Manager (PPM) alongside the GIT RIP.
